Plasencia Cigars | Year of the Tiger

Plasencia Cigars is known as being one of the world’s leading growers of first-class tobacco. Now it’s putting some of that tobacco to good use in a very special, limited edition release–Year of the Tiger. This cigar celebrates the Chinese New Year while also symbolizing the values that the Plasencia family has long embraced.

“Smooth and flavorful is the best way I can describe the Year of the Tiger. This medium strength cigar delivers notes of chocolate, nuts, and some initial spiciness,” commented Nestor Andres Plasnecia, president and CEO of Plasencia Cigars.

The Plasencia Year of the Tiger cigar is a Nicaraguan puro made with tobacco that’s been aged for 10 years. The cigar is a medium in strength and has deep and rich flavors. Because of the limited quantities of this aged tobacco, only 2,500 boxes of this special cigar were made and shipped to the U.S. The cigar is available in just one size measuring 6 1/4 x 54, with each cigar costing $40 and comes in 8-count boxes.

In Chinese culture, the tiger represents several different characteristics including determination, confidence, and persistence. The tiger is also known as being a dynamic animal. When the Plasencia family established its company in 1865, all of these same characteristics were needed in order for the family to achieve longterm success. Being dynamic was especially necessary and enabled the Plasencias to build a tobacco empire that has endured many trials and challenges over the course of a century. Being creative and forward-thinking got the family through the changing times and allowed it to be here today.
