Plasencia Cigars is releasing a new cigar to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The limited edition Plasencia Year of the Rabbit will be offered in a Toro vitola measuring 6 1/2 x 54. Only 6,000 boxes of this cigar will be produced with 3,000 being reserved for the U.S. market.

Plasencia’s Year of the Rabbit is a Nicaraguan Puro that uses tobaccos grown in the Plasencia’s various farms within Nicaragua. The cigar’s blend focuses on tobacco grown in a special area of the Jalapa Valley. It is a mild to medium-bodied cigar that’s described as being both balanced and well constructed. The blend was created to match the redeeming features of the rabbit, such as its gentleness and its elegance. This cigar has notes of nougat, green tea, cedar and cardamom.

In a press release, Plasencia Cigars’ CEO Nestor Andres Plasencia stated: “The Rabbit represents the perfect animal for these changing times for its ability to adjust during various times with grace and elegance. I would also like to emphasize that since the rabbit is a symbol of longevity, our tobacco also improves over time to achieve those incredible flavors. We strongly feel that ‘The Year of the Rabbit’ cigar brand will accurately represent the Chinese New Year.”

The Plasencia Year of the Rabbit will come in 10-count boxes with a suggested retail price of $520 before any applicable taxes. Each cigar has a suggested retail price of $52.
