This week, Matilde Cigars revealed a new release–the Serena Maduro. This cigar is a twist on the original blend and has a rich and complex flavor profile due to the aged maduro wrapper.
“We’ve taken the smooth and refined taste of Serena and elevated it to the next level,” says Enrique Seijas, owner of Matilde Cigars. “Matilde Serena Maduro is part of the Serena family. It has a Mexican wrapper … and the same Serena core blend, which is Dominican and Nicaraguan. Beautiful medium smoke, a lot of rich flavors, still a great morning cigar but just a lot more complexity.”
According to Matilde’s website, the Serena Maduro has some sweet notes and rich flavors that range from mocha coffee to dried fruits and toast. The cigar’s aromas are reminiscent of earth, tobacco aging barns and leather.
The Matilde Serena Maduro is available as a Toro (6 1/2 x 54) as well as a Robusto (5 1/4 x 50).
