Crowned Heads is teaming up with Tabacalera Pichardo, the factory behind the company’s popular Juârez brand, for a new ultra-premium offering called Mil Días. This new cigar is slated for an August 2020 release.
Translating to “one thousand days,” Mil Días references a three-year window of time that’s required to bring this project from intention to fruition, and ultimately, to completion. This project began in the summer of 2017 when Don Radio Pichardo and Luciano Meirelles of Tabacalera Pichardo and Ace Prime Group presented blend samples to Crowned Heads’ Jon Huber during the 2017 International Premium Cigar & Pipe Retailers trade show.
“I was very impressed with those initial samples and I felt the blend had tremendous potential. Little did I know that those samples would take us on a nearly three-year journey of blend exploration and experimentation,” commented Huber.
Meirelles added: “To create a blend and innovate you need to take risks beyond conventional thinking.”
“Mil Días represents our relationship’s journey, and it also highlights the fruitfulness of our recently announced strategic alliance,” said Pichardo. “When Luciano had me try his first blend of Mil Días I knew right away we had something magical, and I’m excited to see Crowned Heads release this fantastic cigar.”
Mil Días’ blend is composed of a Nicaraguan binder, filler tobaccos from Nicaragua, Peru, and Costa Rica, and an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Crowned Heads describes Mil Días’ flavor profile as being medium-plus and full in flavor, exhibiting exquisite balance and complexity. This cigar will be available in four different sizes: Corona Gorda (6 x 46), Edmundo ( 5 3/8 x 52), Double Robusto (6 3/8 x 50), and Sublime (6 x 54). Each cigar will range in price from $9.25 to $11.50. Mil Días will be handmade in Esteli, Nicaragua at Tabacalera Pichardo. Additional information from Crowned Heads can be found at crownedheads.com.
